The fuel crisis has caused vehicle queues stretching far beyond the gas station, impacting nearby shops that are completely blocked by cars, preventing customers from parking to buy goods. The shop owner expresses sympathy for all parties, despite having to bear monthly expenses over ten thousand baht and not knowing where to turn.
On 16 Mar 2026 GMT+7, reporters observed the area along Kamphaeng Phet-Thepnakhon Road, where a PTT gas station is located next to a large wholesale mall. There were numerous private cars and trucks lined up waiting to refuel, with the queue stretching nearly to the intersection near the Chulalongkorn police post—a distance exceeding 2 kilometers. This situation caused shops in the vicinity to be unable to sell products, with several businesses temporarily closing while some remained open.
One of the shops still open was a durian vendor. During the fuel crisis, daily lines of trucks, private cars, and tractors park along the roadside in front of the shop, making it impossible to conduct sales because customers cannot park on the road directly in front of the store.
The reporter spoke with durian vendor "Mae Kaewao," who said her shop is about 1 kilometer from the gas station. Since the fuel crisis began, all kinds of vehicles have continuously lined up daily to refuel. For example, today since 10:00 a.m., vehicles have been waiting even before the fuel delivery arrived. When the tanker truck refilled the station, there were still queues of people with fuel cans and private cars waiting inside the gas station. Many cars must wait parked along the roadside from 10:00 a.m. until now, 4:00 p.m., without moving. This has completely prevented her from selling anything. She admitted the hardship, as she has monthly rent expenses exceeding 10,000 baht. Ultimately, she does not know what to do, as everyone is suffering and must understand each other. When cars run out of fuel, they have no choice but to wait like this. Many drivers parking in front of her shop complain about driving around searching for fuel until their tanks are almost empty, ending up parked here as seen. She acknowledged that she has been unable to sell for almost a week but truly does not know what else to do.
