Regarding this issue, at 5:00 AM on 17 March 2026, reporters reported that the fuel situation in Sawankhalok district, Sukhothai province, remains critical. Residents still cannot find diesel fuel, which is in high demand. Some stations have run out of both regular and premium diesel since yesterday. Despite premium diesel costing over 10 baht more per liter, locals have no choice but to buy it, as without fuel their vehicles cannot operate.
This morning at the Shell station on the Sawankhalok-Thung Saliam Road in Sawankhalok district, Sukhothai, residents continued to line up from 5 AM, before the station opened at 6 AM, to refuel—especially regular diesel. The Shell station still sells diesel at 30.48 baht per liter but limits purchases to 500 baht per vehicle only.
