A cautionary tale of a well-cared-for cat diagnosed with pneumonia due to its owner vaping, along with advice on initial symptom signs.
On 17 March 2026, a report emerged that a Facebook userMarinar Memoriesposted a cautionary story titled “A customer's cat developed pneumonia because its owner vaped.”
It stated that the owner took excellent care of the cat with plenty of meat and skin, happiness, good food, and trips out of town like a pampered child. However, during the annual health check-up, X-rays revealed severe to very severe pneumonia.
The image shows a white cloudy area on the left side beneath the bone. The veterinarian interpreted the image and pointed out the spot. They are currently awaiting blood test results and the next treatment steps from the vet.
Initial symptom signs
Points of suspicion Does a cat get addicted to vape like a human? How does a cat feel when inhaling it? And until it got sick now? Friends, please take your cats for annual health check-ups. The problem is inside, and we don’t know it.
Also, please smoke cigarettes or vape outside the cat’s living area. Cat owners love their cats, but sometimes behaviors or environmental factors within the home are not fully managed due to lack of knowledge.
Every cat household faces different problems. When issues arise, solutions are sought that bring peace of mind to both cats and owners. If you have many cats, try randomly selecting one or two older cats with higher risks for testing first, then wait for the results before deciding. Some diseases are contagious; others are not.
