Fuel Truck Drivers Reveal Quota Limits Urge Not to Blame Transport Delays, Say They Are Scapegoats

Fuel truck drivers revealed they are limited by quotas and urged not to blame them for delayed fuel transportation, saying they have become scapegoats. Meanwhile, officials inspecting fuel stations found some fuel types temporarily out of stock at several stations, awaiting additional quota allocation.

At 10:00 a.m. on 17 Mar 2026, Mr. Natee Montariwat, Governor of Ang Thong province, assigned Mr. Kongkiat Kittikhun, Ang Thong Provincial Energy Officer, Ms. Sikarn Fuengfung, Ang Thong Provincial Commerce Officer, Mr. Thanakorn Ngernruangchai, Head of the 0-1 Suphanburi Branch Office of Weights and Measures, security officials from the Internal Security Operations Command of Ang Thong province, and related agencies to inspect fuel stations in Mueang and Chaiyo districts to monitor fuel service availability at these stations.

They found that several fuel stations temporarily ran out of certain fuel types, such as diesel and gasoline. Some stations posted signs indicating fuel was in transit, while others reported exceeding their quota and waiting for new allocations from suppliers. Officials also inspected the fuel tanks at these stations to verify the temporary shortages reported by vendors.

During the inspection, officials interviewed fuel truck drivers waiting to unload fuel at one station about the causes of the supply interruptions. The drivers stated that the delays were not their fault; rather, they are currently being blamed by society as scapegoats for delivering fuel late.

They emphasized that the supply source is currently limited by reduced fuel quotas. They are ready to deliver fuel daily to stations. Officials have compiled all the information to submit to the Energy Business Department, and Ang Thong province will use this data to understand the vendors' fuel situation and address the problems causing difficulties for the public.
