Parents Report Outstanding Teacher for Assaulting Grade 5 Son, Vowing to Pursue Case Fully

Seeking justice, parents refuse to tolerate and have filed a complaint. An "Outstanding Teacher" physically assaulted and threatened their Grade 5 "son" and have confirmed they will pursue the matter to the fullest.

On 17 March 2026, it was reported that the parents of Nong Champ (a pseudonym), a Grade 5 student at a school in downtown Chonburi, brought evidence including audio recordings, a medical certificate, and a police report to the media seeking justice for their son.

The incident involved Nong Champ being physically assaulted by a teacher who called him to the third-floor room, locked the door, then punched him about 3-4 times on the stomach and solar plexus area, and slapped both shoulders. During the assault, the teacher threatened him not to tell his parents, warning that if he did, he would face further consequences and that they would continue to have conflicts for another three years.

This teacher had just received a certificate of recognition as the school's Outstanding Teacher on 15 March 2026.

Meanwhile, Nong Champ's parents insist on pursuing the case fully. So far, the teacher has neither contacted nor apologized. Currently, Nong Champ has a slight fever and is resting at home.

Most recently, at 09:30 on 18 March 2026, Mr. Hongchit Sahakitshachawan, Deputy Municipal Clerk of Chonburi Town, along with relevant agencies such as the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and the Provincial Local Administration, held a meeting to discuss the incident. The accused teacher did not attend, as he had been on leave since the previous day.

Mr. Hongchit briefly stated that a thorough fact-finding investigation is underway to ensure fairness to all parties, and appropriate disciplinary measures will be considered.

The school's deputy director said that the teacher is generally well-behaved and that such an incident had never occurred before at the school. However, the outcome of the investigation by the committee and Chonburi Town Municipality is awaited to determine further actions.

As of now, the teacher remains unreachable. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
