The Meteorological Department forecasts that from 19 to 25 March, upper Thailand will experience rising temperatures, rain showers, and occasional strong gusts of wind. Between 20 and 22 March, the Northeast and East regions will see increased rainfall.
On 19 March 2026, the Meteorological Department's general forecast for 19–25 March 2026 states that upper Thailand will generally experience warmer weather with thunderstorms and occasional strong gusts of wind. This is due to a low-pressure area caused by heat covering upper Thailand, while a weakening high-pressure or cool air mass covers the South China Sea, resulting in southerly and southeasterly winds bringing moisture to upper Thailand.
During 20–22 March 2026, the southerly and southeasterly winds covering the Northeast and East regions will strengthen, causing increased rainfall in those areas.
In the South, thunderstorms will still occur in some areas due to weak easterly and southeasterly winds covering the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea. Winds and waves in the Gulf of Thailand will weaken, with wave heights around 1 meter, and in areas with thunderstorms, waves will be higher than 1 meter.
Precautions: Residents in upper Thailand are advised to take care of their health due to the rising temperatures by avoiding prolonged exposure in open areas and to be cautious of dangers from thunderstorms and occasional strong gusts of wind throughout this period.
