A man recently released from a drug conviction broke into Wat Pak Sa School in Songkhla Province, startling teachers and students. Police were promptly notified and detained him immediately.
At 11:00 a.m. on 20 March 2026, police from the suppression unit of Mueang Phatthalung Police Station received a report from the village headman of Village No. 10, Chai Buri Subdistrict, Mueang Phatthalung District, that a suspicious man carrying a short knife had ridden a motorcycle into Wat Pak Sa School, under the jurisdiction of the Phatthalung Primary Educational Service Area Office 1.
The man then dismounted his motorcycle and walked toward the school's restroom. Concerned that he might harm teachers and students, police checked the incident and identified him as Mr. Seksak, or Jay, 44, a local resident of Village No. 10. Upon seeing the police, Jay fled into the rice fields adjacent to the school but was soon captured by officers. He was then taken to Phatthalung Hospital due to symptoms resembling mental illness, which is suspected to be drug-induced.
A teacher at Wat Pak Sa School revealed that before the incident, Jay had driven around twice and then walked off, appearing paranoid and suspicious. The teacher quickly gathered all 29 students into one room and locked the door tightly, fearing Jay might attack with a knife. They then informed the village headman, who notified the police to intervene and detain the man.
Mr. Apidet Phongchanstien, 55, village headman of Village No. 10, stated that although the suspect did not harm anyone, his actions caused fear among everyone. Jay recently completed a sentence for drug offenses. Concerned he might harm children and teachers inside the school, the village headman promptly alerted the police, who then detained him.
