The body of Jordan Wright, a well-known British reality TV star from TOWIE, was found in a deep canal in Phuket province. It is suspected he fell into the water late at night and was unable to climb out. Police are urgently collecting evidence to determine the exact cause of death.
On 14 March 2026 at about 14:00, authorities were notified of the discovery of Jordan Wright, 32, a British national, lying face down deceased in a canal near Bang Tao 2 Alley, Choeng Thale Subdistrict, Thalang District, Phuket. Investigators, forensic doctors, and crime scene officials jointly examined the scene and conducted a postmortem; initially, no signs of assault were found.
At the scene, a hotel room key card from a hotel on Soi Choeng Thale 14, Choeng Thale Subdistrict, Thalang District, Phuket, was found. Officials collected all evidence to proceed with a thorough investigation into the cause of death.
On 20 March 2026, further investigation revealed that Jordan Wright entered Thailand on 3 December 2025 via Qatar Airways flight QR 828, arriving in Bangkok at 19:15. He was scheduled to return on 31 May 2026. It was later confirmed that he was a star who had appeared on the UK reality show The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE).
CCTV footage showed that the deceased stayed alone at the hotel, pacing continuously before running out of the hotel around 23:25 on 12 March 2026. He headed toward the scene, an area of the hotel under construction, and then ran into a drainage canal approximately 1.6 meters deep.
Police investigators from Choeng Thale Police Station stated the canal’s water depth is about 1.6 meters, but from ground level to the bottom it is about 2 meters deep, making it difficult to climb out, especially at night. At the time, the deceased was in an agitated state, so it is believed he could not get himself out and later died.
Authorities continue to gather additional evidence and await detailed forensic results to conclusively determine the cause of death.
