ONCB Launches Major Event to Mobilize Public in Reporting Drug Tips and Raise Awareness

The ONCB kicked off a major event to mobilize public power in reporting drug tips, alongside the launch of the blockbuster series ONCB Mission "Operation IN SEA: Assault on Hell Island."

On 21 March 2026, the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), Ministry of Justice, held the year's major event "ONCB Mission: 1386, Your Support for All Drug Problems" at Future Park Rangsit shopping center. The aim was to raise awareness and awaken public participation in concretely solving drug issues, while launching the series ONCB Mission Season 2: Operation IN SEA: Assault on Hell Island, reflecting the intense and challenging mission to crack down on drug trafficking networks.

Meanwhile, the ONCB emphasized the key policy of Pol. Lt. Col. Suriya Singhakamon, ONCB Secretary-General, focused on driving operations to reduce drug-related violence, alleviating public distress and restoring confidence through proactive, comprehensive measures. The hotline was upgraded to “1386, Your Support for All Drug Problems,” providing a safe, accessible channel for the public, alongside drug suppression, cutting off traffickers’ finances, rehabilitation for users, and community empowerment through the Mother of the Land Fund to build sustainable surveillance systems.

To realize this policy, the ONCB organized "mobile outreach" activities to bring services and information closer to the public, encouraging participation as vigilant informants, and creating a safe, welcoming space for people to seek drug-related consultations freely and securely.

A key highlight was the premiere of the series "Operation IN SEA: Assault on Hell Island," portraying the fierce and challenging drug crackdown missions, accompanied by the "IN SEA Exclusive Talk: Inside the Secret Mission to Assault Hell Island" panel featuring lead actors including Top Jaron sharing behind-the-scenes action and the dedication of real officers. The "Gang Pham" cast played drug traffickers warning against "accepting packages from strangers" to prevent falling victim to drug networks.

The event, held on 21-22 March 2026, transformed the venue into a learning operations base with four main zones: the 1386 booth "Your Support for All Drug Problems" with the "Spot, Remember, Report" mission training skills to observe suspicious behavior for tip reporting; the MISSION BOX booth with games to identify and classify drugs; the Safe Zone booth for confidential tip reporting and drug problem consultations; and the Consultation Corner by the National Institute of Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation, staffed by experts. Entertainment was offered throughout both days.

The event also featured performances by the ONCB Mission Band awareness team, stage games with prize giveaways, and full screenings of ONCB Mission Season 2. On 22 March 2026, the highlight was the Influencer Insight session with criminologist Dr. Trin Phooraksa discussing the permanent damage drugs cause to the frontal brain, while sharing the protective mantra "Eh! Stay Alert First."

For those interested, the ONCB Mission Season 2: Operation IN SEA series is now available on the ONCB’s social media channels (Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram). Anyone spotting drug-related tips can report immediately via the ONCB hotline 1386, available 24 hours a day.
