The body of a 25-year-old female teacher from a well-known Phuket school was found after she went missing from Sarasin Bridge, amid her family's deep sorrow following a six-day search.
At 00:55 on 17 Mar 2026 GMT+7, police at Tha Chat Chai Station in Phuket received a report from local fishermen at Sarasin Bridge, Mai Khao Subdistrict, Thalang District, Phuket, that a person had jumped off the bridge and drowned, with their fate unknown.
Police coordinated with the Mai Khao Subdistrict rescue team and divers from the Phuket Kusoldharm Foundation to inspect the scene. The bridge is closed to vehicles and serves as a tourist spot. They found a white motorcycle with Phuket license plates parked on the sidewalk near the bridge's viewpoint entrance. Under the seat was a mobile phone which, upon checking, appeared to belong to Ms. Prawasa, as the lock screen image matched her Facebook profile left open on the device.
According to local fishermen at Sarasin Bridge, around 00:50 on 17 Mar 2026 GMT+7, while they were fishing, a young woman rode a motorcycle and parked near the small bridge on the Tha Chat Chai side of Mai Khao Subdistrict, Thalang District, Phuket. She then sat on the bridge railing and jumped into the sea, disappearing before the eyes of the nearby fishermen, who immediately alerted police at Tha Chat Chai Station.
It is initially believed that the woman who jumped into the sea and disappeared is Ms. Prawasa, nicknamed Ajarn Pro, aged 25, a teacher at a well-known school in Phuket. She is thought to have had personal issues involving both romantic and health problems. Police plan to conduct a detailed investigation with her family to verify the facts.
Meanwhile, divers from the Kusoldharm Foundation intensified the search around the area but found no sign of her. Over the past five days, divers, police, and local village leaders have pooled efforts in the search but to no avail.
Finally, at 08:45 on 22 Mar 2026 GMT+7, the sixth day of searching for the teacher's body, the Kusoldharm Foundation divers, Mai Khao rescue team, and local leaders launched inflatable boats and found a female body floating near the mouth of the bay in Mai Khao Subdistrict, Thalang District, Phuket. The body was brought ashore and sent to Thalang Hospital for an autopsy, while family members were contacted to identify if it was indeed Ms. Prawasa, also known as Ajarn Pro.
The body was initially found bloated and the face barely recognizable. There were no signs of physical assault on the body, and it is estimated she had been deceased for no less than five days. The autopsy is ongoing to determine the exact cause of death amid the deep grief of her family and fellow teachers.
