A utility pole truck overturned on Highway 108 Mae Ho–Mae Sariang near kilometers 175-176 in Mae Sariang district, blocking traffic and injuring three people.

On 23 Mar 2026 at about 11:15 GMT+7, Mr. Worasak Panthong, district chief of Mae Sariang, Mae Hong Son province, reported that a utility pole truck overturned and blocked traffic on Highway 108 near km 175-176, Village No. 4 Ban Pa Chi, Mae Ho subdistrict, Mae Sariang district, Mae Hong Son. Rescue teams from Mae Ho Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mae Sariang Rescue Association, Mae Sariang Hospital, and Mae Sariang police station were assisting. Emergency vehicles and equipment from Bo Luang municipality, Hod district, were mobilized to help.

Initial checks found three injured people trapped inside the vehicle. Two were transported to the hospital, while rescue teams and related agencies were carefully helping the third person exit the vehicle. The overturned truck blocked both lanes completely, making it impossible for any vehicles to pass, leading to a temporary road closure.

Highway 108 from Hod district, Chiang Mai province, to Mae Sariang district, Mae Hong Son province, is considered a main route that is steep and winding. Particularly in the section from Ban Mae Ho before entering Mae Sariang district, accidents frequently occur due to the long downhill stretch. Drivers unfamiliar with the route face a high risk of accidents.
