Pornographic Materials Found in Abbots Quarters Driver Claims Ownership, Says He Forgot About Them

The abbot's driver at a temple in Sikhio has admitted that the pornographic materials found in the quarters belong to him. He claimed he had forgotten about them for a long time, affirmed that the abbot is a good person, and took full responsibility alone.

On 23 Mar 2016, following a fire at the abbot's quarters in a temple in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, officials discovered pornographic materials and a fake penis inside. This sparked widespread public criticism. Meanwhile, local residents expressed confidence in the abbot and did not believe the items belonged to him, as previously reported.

Recently, Mr. Aun (a pseudonym), the temple's driver, revealed that he learned about the fire incident from the news. He admitted that the pornographic items found in the quarters were indeed his. He said he had placed them there long ago but forgot about them and did not expect the fire to lead to their discovery again. He emphasized that he had no ill intent toward the abbot.

Mr. Aun added that the abbot is a good monk loved by the local community. He took full responsibility for the entire incident alone. Meanwhile, the monastic committee, led by the Sikhio district ecclesiastical head, and related agencies are forming an investigative committee to ensure fairness to all parties and thoroughly examine all details of the incident.
