Sukhothai Residents Queue with Containers to Buy Diesel Despite Price Rise to 33 Baht per Liter

In Sukhothai, residents stood in line holding containers to buy diesel fuel even before the gas station opened. Traffic police from Sawankhalok Police Station had to come to assist with traffic control.

At 6:00 a.m. on 24 March 2026, reporters observed the fuel situation in front of the Bangchak gas station on Jorod Withithong Road, Mueang Sawankhalok Subdistrict, Sawankhalok District, Sukhothai Province. Locals gathered in front of the station to receive queue cards for buying diesel fuel, which would be sold starting at 6 a.m. This caused traffic congestion in the area, as the road is a two-way street in downtown Sawankhalok.

Traffic police from Sawankhalok Police Station had to assist with traffic management because the left lane in front of the Bangchak gas station was occupied by vehicles of residents waiting in line to enter the station and refuel according to the queue cards distributed by the Bangchak staff to those wanting to buy fuel.

Although fuel prices rose today, residents still came to queue up to purchase diesel fuel.
