Sukhothai Residents Endure Over 5-Hour Wait for Diesel Fuel, Limited to 300 Baht per Vehicle

The ongoing fuel shortage in Sukhothai province has forced residents to wait in line for over five hours, even though diesel fuel is rationed to only 300 baht per vehicle.

On 24 March 2026, reporters observed fuel shortages at various gas stations, especially in the Mueang Sukhothai district, where vehicle queues stretched for several kilometers. Some people waited for hours, while many stations limited diesel purchases to 300 baht per vehicle to fairly distribute fuel among the large number of customers.

Most residents said that despite waiting over five hours and receiving only a limited amount of 300 baht worth of fuel, they had to accept the situation because they still needed diesel for their daily lives and livelihoods.

This situation continues to cause widespread hardship among the public, with no signs of resolution in the short term.
