Meteorological Department Forecasts Hot Weather Across Thailand, Northern Region to Exceed 40°C from 25-31 Mar 2026

The Meteorological Department forecasts hot weather nationwide during the seven-day period from 25 to 31 March 2026, with the northern region's maximum temperature surpassing 40 degrees Celsius.

On 25 March 2026, the Meteorological Department reported its seven-day weather outlook for 25-31 March 2026. It expects generally hot conditions in upper Thailand during this period, with some areas experiencing very hot weather and hazy skies during the daytime. Thunderstorms with strong gusts of wind are predicted in some locations due to low atmospheric pressure caused by heat covering upper Thailand. Meanwhile, weak southeasterly and southerly winds prevail over the lower northeastern region, central region, and eastern region.

From 27 to 29 March 2026, the southeasterly winds over the northeastern and eastern regions will strengthen, causing thunderstorms accompanied by strong gusts and occasional hail in some areas of the northeast and north.

The southern region will have little rain and hot daytime weather throughout this period, as weak east and southeasterly winds cover the Gulf of Thailand, the south, and the Andaman Sea. Waves in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea will be around one meter high, rising above one meter in areas experiencing thunderstorms.

Residents in upper Thailand are advised to be cautious of dangers from thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind by avoiding open areas, sheltering from large trees, unstable structures, and billboards. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to protect crops and livestock from possible damage. People are also advised to take care of their health due to the hot weather conditions throughout the period.
