Tourist Nearly Shocked as Black Cobra Slithers Past Neck on 2nd Floor of Krabi Hotel

A terrifying experience left a tourist nearly shocked as she recounted resting on the second floor of a hotel in Krabi when suddenly a black cobra slithered past her neck, prompting her to call authorities to capture and release it back into the wild.

The incident quickly gained attention online after a Facebook user posted a video that shocked viewers. He described the experience: "A terrifying event. We were staying at a hotel in Krabi at around 5 a.m. My partner got out of the room crying and shouting that there was a snake on the bed, near his head. At first, I thought it was a ghost coming through the wall, but then I heard it was a snake, a black cobra slithering past his neck. How could there be a snake in the hotel? The pictures tell the story."

On 28 March 2026, Mr. Suthee Naohad, also known as Bang Cha, a rescue worker with the Ao Nang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, who captured the snake, explained the incident occurred around 5 a.m. on 27 March. They received a report from staff at a hotel in Ao Nang Subdistrict, Krabi City District, that a snake had entered a guest's room.

Upon investigation at the hotel’s second floor, where a Thai tourist was staying, they searched for some time before finding the snake hiding under the bed. It was a cobra about 40-45 cm long, showing aggressive behavior. They captured it in a sack and released it into the wild. The tourist reported feeling something cold slither past her neck while sleeping. Upon waking and noticing the snake, she immediately alerted hotel staff.

Regarding how the snake entered, it is believed to have climbed the stairs and slipped under the door through a gap of about 4 cm between the door and the floor. Authorities advise hotel staff and guests everywhere to thoroughly inspect rooms before staying. Although snakes entering rooms is not uncommon, it usually happens on ground floors, not as high as the second floor as in this case.
