Thai Men Prepare from 1 to 12 April for 2026 Conscripted Soldier Selection

From 1 to 12 April 2026, the Royal Thai Army invites Thai men to undergo the "conscripted soldier" selection to enter active military service, with the right to choose their preferred unit.

It was reported that the Facebook pageRoyal Thai Armyposted a message stating that from 1 to 12 April, the Royal Thai Army invites Thai men to willingly participate in the selection and enlist as active duty soldiers, with the right to choose their desired unit.

The Royal Thai Army invites Thai men who have turned 21 years old, born in 2005, and those aged 22 to 29, born between 1997 and 2004, who have not yet undergone selection or who participated last year but whose selection results were incomplete for any reason, to undergo the conscripted soldier selection during the periodfrom 1 to 12 April2026, excluding 6 April 2026 (Chakri Memorial Day).

Documents required to present on the selection day include:

  • Sor Dor 9 certificate
  • Sor Dor 35 military enlistment call-up notice
  • Identification card
  • Educational transcript from at least upper secondary education or equivalent
  • Medical certificate or treatment records (if any) issued by a state or private hospital, no older than 60 days before the selection date.Name change certificate (if any).

The Royal Thai Army has established coordination command centers at all levels, from the Army Headquarters to regional commands and military districts, to provide advice and resolve issues that may arise during the selection process. They have also set up a special 'Fast Lane' for patients, people with disabilities, volunteers, and those with deferments to facilitate convenience and reduce crowding on selection days.

Volunteers who enlist as active duty soldiers on selection day will have the right to express their preference for the unit and service term, including the ability to choose their desired department and draft group. They also have the right to reduced service duration if they possess educational qualifications at the high school level or higher, or have completed the first and second years of military student training courses.
