On 29 Mar 2026, a summer storm hit Lom Kao District, Phetchabun Province. Strong gusty winds brought heavy rain and hail, causing trees to fall and block roads. Authorities had to quickly deploy equipment to clear the paths for vehicles. Additionally, the hail damaged tobacco leaves that farmers were currently harvesting.
From afternoon until evening on 28 Mar, a summer storm occurred with rain, strong gusty winds, lightning, and hail in the districts of Mueang Phetchabun, Khao Kho, Chon Daen, and Wang Pong. The storm damaged a total of 66 homes. Notably, in Wang Pong District, lightning struck a livestock shed, killing three buffaloes.
Mr. Saranyu Meethongkham, Governor of Phetchabun Province, instructed all district chiefs to inform residents to closely monitor the local situation. He directed district chiefs and local administrative leaders to take command of the situation by organizing task forces to assist citizens, promptly assess damage, and provide aid within their authority. He emphasized that all local administrations must prepare personnel and disaster relief machinery to be ready to support residents 24 hours a day.
