Chiang Mai experienced a forest fire late at night near the entrance of Mae Pha Nae Reservoir, Village No. 11, On Tai Subdistrict, San Kamphaeng District.
At 01:41 a.m. on the night of 30 March 2026, Mr. Kanet Kamnon, the San Kamphaeng district chief in Chiang Mai, was alerted to a hot spot and forest fire in On Tai Subdistrict, San Kamphaeng District. He promptly went to oversee the operation and requested support from Mr. Chananan Kanteefong, the mayor of On Tai Subdistrict Municipality, who provided two fire trucks.
Along with firefighting teams, the chairman of the On Tai Subdistrict Council and the Village Headman of Pa Pa Ngam Village No. 11 in On Tai Subdistrict, San Kamphaeng District, collaborated to extinguish the forest fire near the entrance of Mae Pha Nae Reservoir, Village No. 11, On Tai Subdistrict. The fire was successfully put out quickly. “Fast detection, fast access, fast extinguishing” – Chiang Mai does not burn.
