Rescue teams searched the area multiple times without finding anything until a good Samaritan reported spotting the bodies of two teenagers on the median of the Asia Road. It is believed they were involved in a collision, their bodies thrown onto the median and unnoticed for over a day.
On 30 Mar 2026 GMT+7, it was reported that at 14:00 on 29 Mar, Police Lieutenant Colonel Pichak Suryasenie, an investigator from Sanphaya Police Station, received a report of the discovery of the bodies of a young man and woman on the median of the Asia Road southbound at kilometer marker 130+800, Moo 7, Taluk Subdistrict, Sanphaya District, Chai Nat Province. He promptly inspected the scene with volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation in Chai Nat and the duty physician from Sanphaya Hospital.
At the scene, the body of Mr. Niruj, 17, from Kamphaeng Phet Province, was found lying face down, wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and black jeans. His body showed multiple fractures and lacerations, swelling with pus discharge, and emitted a foul odor. Nearby, a helmet and two bags were found about 20 meters away. Also found was the body of Miss Wipawan, 14, from Nakhon Sawan Province, wearing a dark blue T-shirt and black pants, lying on her back with intestines protruding and swollen, multiple fractures and lacerations, pus discharge, and odor. A preliminary autopsy estimated they had been dead for at least two days. The bodies were sent to the forensic institute at Sawankhalok Pracharak Hospital for further examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Interviewing Mr. Watthachai Rungrawee, a volunteer with the Ruamkatanyu Foundation in Chai Nat, revealed this case likely relates to an incident at 2 a.m. on 27 Mar, when a motorcycle reportedly collided with the rear of a truck. However, multiple patrols found no evidence of the accident, and the search was called off.
Regarding the motorcycle believed to belong to the victims, police from Suea Hok Subdistrict in Mueang Chai Nat District collected it for safekeeping after reports of a red Honda Wave motorcycle overturned in the middle of the road. The following day, several searches again failed to locate it until a good Samaritan discovered the two bodies. Police suspect the victims lost control and collided, causing them to be thrown onto the relatively deep median, which went unnoticed, especially since the accident happened late at night when few people were around.
The police will continue to investigate and interview witnesses to establish the exact cause and proceed with legal action accordingly.
