Thailand to Experience Highest Temperatures This Week at 42°C in Northern and Central Regions

The Meteorological Department forecasts this week's weather from 2 to 8 April 2026, with Thailand experiencing its highest temperature of 42°C in the northern and central regions, while Bangkok and its metropolitan area will have maximum temperatures of 41°C.

On 2 April 2026, the Meteorological Department predicted general weather conditions for 2-8 April 2026, stating that upper Thailand will generally be hot to very hot in some areas, with haze during the daytime. This is due to low atmospheric pressure caused by heat covering upper Thailand. Meanwhile, weak southern and westerly winds are prevailing in the area, resulting in scattered thunderstorms and gusty winds in some places throughout the period.

For the southern region, scattered thunderstorms are expected with hot daytime temperatures. From 2 to 3 April, easterly winds will cover the Gulf of Thailand, southern region, and Andaman Sea. From 4 to 8 April, westerly winds will cover the Andaman Sea, southern region, and Gulf of Thailand. Waves in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea will be weak, about 1 meter high, with waves exceeding 1 meter in areas experiencing thunderstorms throughout the period.

Precautions advise the public across Thailand to take care of their health due to hot to very hot weather by avoiding prolonged outdoor work or activities. They should also be cautious of dangers from thunderstorms and gusty winds in some areas. Mariners in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea are advised to avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms throughout the period.

Additionally, it is forecast that over the next seven days, temperatures in Thailand will reach as high as 42°C.
