"Sutthipong," former Interior Ministry Secretary, has published 5,000 copies and an e-book of the history of Nakhon Nayok city to honor Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
On 2 April 2026 GMT+7, it was reported that Mr. Sutthipong Juljarern, former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, and his wife Dr. Wandeekuncharayakong Juljarern published the book "History of Nakhon Nayok City: From Dong Nakorn to Nakhon Nayok" in a run of 5,000 copies to honor Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Princess Royal.
The Princess has studied the history of Nakhon Nayok province and encouraged the Fine Arts Department and academic institutions to conduct research, which has enriched and clarified the historical knowledge of Nakhon Nayok, such as excavations and studies of Dong Nakorn city and research on the Japanese military camp in Nakhon Nayok, among others.
The history book of Nakhon Nayok city, published in 5,000 copies and as an e-book, is thus a tribute to the Princess's royal initiative to study and promote the history of Nakhon Nayok.
On 1 April, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously granted an audience at Wang Sarapathum, where Mr. Sutthipong and his family presented their congratulations, made a royal donation according to royal wishes, and offered 10 copies of the Nakhon Nayok history book on the occasion of the Princess's birthday on 2 April 2026.
The full print run of the Nakhon Nayok history book will be completed in May. Mr. Sutthipong plans to present 1,000 copies to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, while the remaining 4,000 copies will be donated as educational resources to schools and academic institutions.
This Nakhon Nayok history book is the third historical book published by Mr. Sutthipong. Previously, he privately funded and published history books on Trat and Saraburi cities to donate to school libraries and educational institutions, aiming to encourage youth to take an interest in their local history and heritage.
Those interested in the book can also access it as an e-book titled "History of Nakhon Nayok City"
