ThaiBev Supports Thai Colorectal Cancer Screening Project for Fifth Consecutive Year

ThaiBev has united networks and expert medical teams to advance the colorectal cancer screening project into its fifth year, conducting this year's program in Kamphaeng Phet Province to enhance community health access.

On 3 Apr 2026 GMT+7, reporters learned that recently, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited collaborated with expert medical teams from Chulalongkorn Hospital, the Thai Red Cross Society, and the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University, along with Phramongkutklao Hospital, a network partner from Kamphaeng Phet Province’s public health offices and nearby areas, to carry out the annual colorectal cancer screening project at Khlong Khlung Hospital in Kamphaeng Phet for the fifth consecutive year. This aligns with the vision of Khun Charoen and Khunying Wanna Sirivadhanabhakdi, who are concerned about promoting quality of life and well-being by ensuring people have access to effective healthcare facilities. This year, the project introduced the "Deep GI" medical innovation developed by Thais to assist in screening, enhancing diagnostic accuracy to international standards, enabling faster and more comprehensive medical access for the public.

Dr. Phosri Kaewsri-ngam, Director of Khlong Khlung Hospital, stated that this project greatly benefits public health for the people of Kamphaeng Phet. He expressed gratitude to the medical teams and healthcare personnel from all participating facilities for their collaboration, and thanked Thai Beverage Public Company Limited for prioritizing and caring for the health of Kamphaeng Phet residents. Colorectal cancer ranks as the third most common cancer overall and is among the top three leading causes of cancer-related deaths in Thais. In 2026, at-risk individuals who underwent FIT Test (Fecal Immunochemical Test) and showed abnormalities received colonoscopy screenings totaling 140 people. Among these, 84 polyps were detected through biopsy, and 5 individuals showed signs suggestive of colorectal cancer. Early screening is vital as it enables treatment planning before cancer develops, increasing chances of successful recovery.

Professor Dr. Rangsarn Rerkniyom, Assistant Rector for Innovation at Chulalongkorn University, explained the purpose of the project, noting that this is the fifth colorectal cancer screening initiative supported by Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, which leads the collaborative effort by assembling doctors from the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University, along with nursing staff.Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society,Additionally, the project has integrated expert medical teams from prominent nearby hospitals, including Sawanpracharak Hospital, Kamphaeng Phet Hospital, Khanu Woralaksaburi Hospital, Khlong Lan Hospital, and MedPark Hospital. This year, the Faculties of Medicine and Engineering at Chulalongkorn University jointly developed the artificial intelligence system named Deep GI to assist doctors during colonoscopies in detecting polyps. Acting as an assistant that enhances diagnostic accuracy, this system is a Thai-developed innovation meeting international quality standards, produced domestically at affordable prices. The goal is for hospitals nationwide to adopt this system, raising the quality and standardization of screening services across the country.
