Concrete Mixer Truck Falls from U-Turn Bridge on Bangna-Trad Road, Driver Seriously Injured, One Sedan Damaged

A concrete mixer truck collided with the railing of the U-turn bridge at Ban Rakat before losing control and plunging onto the Bangna-Trad Road expressway inbound to Bangkok. The driver was seriously injured, and one sedan was damaged.

At 15:00 on 3 Apr 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Jaktong Kammapol, deputy investigator of Bang Bo Police Station, Samut Prakan Province, along with Ruamkatanyu Foundation rescue workers and Bang Bo Hospital emergency staff, inspected the scene of a truck that fell from the U-turn bridge at Ban Rakat outbound to Chonburi on Thepharak Road (Bangna-Trad) at kilometer 31 on the expressway inbound to Bangkok in Moo 5, Ban Rakat Subdistrict, Bang Bo District.

They found a white and red Hino 10-wheel concrete mixer truck with Bangkok license plates that had fallen from the bridge, severely damaged and blocking two lanes of the road, forcing a full traffic closure.

The driver, Mr. Jom, 61, was found thrown from the vehicle and seriously injured. Officials provided first aid before transferring him to Bang Bo Hospital. Nearby was a red Toyota Yaris sedan with Bangkok plates, owned by Mr. Jim, 49, who was driving at the time; the front of the car was damaged.

In an interview, Mr. Jim said that while driving in the left lane and approaching the accident site, he saw debris falling. Then the concrete mixer truck fell in front of him, and a drum also fell, hitting the front of his car.

The initial investigation has not yet determined the cause of this accident. Further details will be reported as they become available.
