Close Associate of Artist Chalermchai Dies in Accident First Cremation at Wat Rong Khun Planned

"Narin Tammas" , close secretary, "Artist Chalermchai Kositpipat" , died in an accident; preparations are underway to enshrine the body for merit-making at Wat Rong Khun, with the cremation to be the temple's first.

On 4 April 2026, reporters reported a tragic event where Mr. Narin Tammas, also known as "Em Muang Phan," personal secretary and close aide to renowned Chiang Rai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, died in a motorcycle accident. His big bike lost control and went off a curve near the Mae Suai Dam descent, in Ban Teen Doi, Village 8, Mae Suai Subdistrict, Mae Suai District, Chiang Rai Province.

The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. on 3 April 2026, when locals found a black big bike motorcycle, license plate กกท 888 Chiang Rai, lying on the roadside near an aluminum shop in Village 8, Mae Suai Subdistrict, Mae Suai District, Chiang Rai. The rider was unconscious beside the vehicle, prompting residents to immediately call rescue personnel to investigate.

Initially, emergency responders provided urgent CPR before the attending doctor arrived at the scene, but they were unable to save him. Death was confirmed shortly thereafter.

Investigations revealed that before the accident, Mr. Narin was riding his motorcycle on a leisure trip around Mae Suai Dam with friends. After parting ways to return home to Phan District, he had the accident en route. It is suspected the bike lost control and went off a curve on a community road.

Meanwhile, reports say artist Chalermchai Kositpipat and his wife were traveling in Japan to celebrate his wife's birthday. Upon learning the news, they contacted family and close associates, instructing that Mr. Narin’s body be enshrined for merit-making at Wat Rong Khun, with the cremation scheduled for 6 April 2026.

Further reports indicate that Mr. Narin was a trusted close associate of artist Chalermchai, often accompanying him on domestic and international trips, especially motorcycle tours. He was also the administrator of the Facebook page "Following the Life of Chalermchai Kositpipat," which shares important clips and events about the artist and Wat Rong Khun, with over 500,000 followers. This page is a frequent source for reporters covering related news. This funeral will be the first cremation held within Wat Rong Khun grounds, as per artist Chalermchai’s wishes.
