CCTV Captures Moment Colleague Shoots Wholesale Retail Employee in Warehouse

Investigation teams from Region 8 and Phuket City Police Station are working together to urgently track down a coworker who shot a well-known wholesale retail employee, leaving him critically injured inside a warehouse. CCTV footage has captured the exact moment of the shooting.

On 7 April 2026, reporters learned that investigation teams from Region 8 and Phuket City Police Station are pursuing Mr. Prakit Panray, 50, after he allegedly shot Mr. Wirat Nawadej, 40, causing serious injuries. The incident took place inside a warehouse of a major wholesale and retail store in Ratsada Subdistrict, Mueang Phuket District. Mr. Prakit fled the scene riding a red and black Honda Click 125i motorcycle, license plate 1 กข 8640 Phuket.

At 17:17 on 6 April, Lieutenant Jaruwit Juabkwamsuk, deputy investigator at Phuket City Police Station, received a report of a shooting injury. The victim was taken to the emergency room at Mission Hospital Phuket on Thepkrasattri Road, Ratsada Subdistrict, Mueang Phuket District. Along with Police Colonel Chatree Chukaew, chief of Phuket City Police, investigators went to the scene. The injured man was identified as Mr. Wirat, 40. He had two bullet wounds—one in the middle of his torso and another on his thigh—but was conscious and able to give a statement.

According to Mr. A (a pseudonym), a friend of the injured Mr. Wirat, both Mr. Wirat and Mr. Prakit were coworkers at the wholesale retail store. After Mr. Prakit shot Mr. Wirat inside the warehouse, Mr. Wirat called Mr. A. He rushed to the scene and took Mr. Wirat to the emergency room at Mission Hospital Phuket. The suspected cause is an argument and physical altercation at work.

. . .. . .Evidence review revealed that CCTV cameras inside the wholesale retail warehouse recorded the event. The footage shows Mr. Prakit approaching Mr. Wirat and seemingly saying something before drawing a gun and firing one shot. Mr. Wirat tried to flee, clutching his abdomen and chest with his right hand. Mr. Prakit then chased him and appeared to fire a second shot, but it missed due to distance. Mr. Prakit continued pursuing Mr. Wirat before fleeing. Authorities are expanding their investigation by questioning Mr. Wirat to determine the motive and are actively seeking to arrest Mr. Prakit to face legal charges.
