A fire broke out at a towel manufacturing factory on Suk Sawat 84 Alley, Phra Samut Chedi District, Samut Prakan Province. Nearly 20 fire trucks were dispatched. Employees reported hearing an explosion. Initial damage is estimated at no less than 10 million baht.
At 05:00 on 8 April 2026, Police Lieutenant Chanunphat Kamolchat, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Phra Samut Chedi Police Station, Samut Prakan Province, received a report of a fire at Double Star Industry Co., Ltd., located at 222 Moo 6, Suk Sawat 84, sub-alley Lung Chat, Nai Khlong Bang Pla Kot Subdistrict, Phra Samut Chedi District, Samut Prakan Province. She coordinated with the Nai Khlong Bang Pla Kot Subdistrict Administrative Organization's Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center to request fire trucks to assist at the scene, then proceeded to inspect the incident site.
At the scene, fire trucks were actively spraying water to suppress flames engulfing a four-story warehouse covering nearly 3 rai. The warehouse stored large stockpiles of towels. The fire started on the building's second floor. Employees reported hearing a loud explosion followed immediately by flames. They attempted to extinguish the fire but failed as it spread rapidly. Approximately 7-8 employees were present at the scene around 04:00. The Nai Khlong Bang Pla Kot Subdistrict Administrative Organization’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation team requested additional support from nearby fire trucks because the blaze was inside the building, which contained many flammable items such as towels and packaging materials.
Regarding firefighting resources, there were 4 fire trucks from Nai Khlong Bang Pla Kot Subdistrict Administrative Organization, 2 from Laem Fa Pha Municipality, 3 from Lat Luang Municipality, and 12 from volunteer disaster relief units. It took about 5 hours to extinguish the fire.
Police documented the scene with photographs as evidence and secured the area to allow the forensic team to investigate the cause. Preliminary damage assessment estimates losses at no less than 10 million baht.
