A large warehouse caught fire in Nong Sarai Subdistrict, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Tragically, 17 dogs—mothers and their puppies from several litters—died in the blaze.
At 11:00 p.m. on 9 April 2026, reporters reported a large warehouse fire containing items such as plastic cups, paper coffee cups, drinking straws, coffee straws, cardboard boxes, packaging, and other supplies intended for various shops. The fire occurred at warehouse number 50, Village No. 8, Rai Fah Prathan area, Nong Sarai Subdistrict, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima.
An eyewitness living next to the warehouse said they heard two loud thuds and went outside to see flames rising from the center of the warehouse along with thick smoke. They immediately shouted to alert the owner, who then quickly called the Nong Sarai Police Station in Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima, to request fire trucks from various agencies to extinguish the fire. The warehouse has a high roof and open sides.
Fire prevention and relief officers from Pak Chong Municipality, Nong Sarai Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Wang Sai Subdistrict Municipality, and Nong Nam Daeng Subdistrict Administrative Organization, with four fire trucks and 36 personnel, worked together to fight the rapidly spreading fire. The stored goods were highly flammable. It took the firefighters an hour and a half to control the blaze, during which they continued to sift through smoldering debris to extinguish all remaining flames.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. One official was injured, suffering burns to the ankle. The estimated damages range from over one million to two million baht.
However, the warehouse owner reported the sad news that 17 dogs, mothers and their puppies living in the warehouse, all died from the fire. Two charred carcasses were found, while the rest were likely trapped under burning debris due to their small size.
