Traffic Begins to Build on Phahonyothin Road as People Start Returning Home for Songkran 2026

Traffic has begun to thicken on Phahonyothin Road near Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani Province, as people gradually travel back home for the Songkran Festival 2026.

At 18:00 on 10 April 2026 GMT+7, the atmosphere of people returning to their hometowns for the Songkran Festival grew lively, causing outbound traffic on Phahonyothin Road in Khlong Nueng Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province, to become densely packed across the traffic lanes.

Pol. Lt. Col. Singha Fuangkaew, traffic inspector of Khlong Luang Police Station, together with Police Sub-Lieutenant Thanapong Phaohom, deputy inspector of Highway Division 1, Highway Police Division, along with traffic officers from Khlong Luang Police and Ayutthaya Highway Police, have been on site facilitating and managing traffic to help citizens return to the provinces smoothly and safely.

Police Sub-Lieutenant Thanapong Phaohom stated that for this year's Songkran Festival, people began traveling out of the city toward the provinces since early evening. He announced that the Department of Highways has opened the M6 Motorway from kilometer marker 54 outbound and kilometer marker 56 inbound. He emphasized that trucks are strictly prohibited from using this motorway.

Furthermore, due to the large volume of accumulated traffic this evening, drivers are urged to maintain appropriate speeds, strictly obey traffic rules, and inspect their vehicles before departure to ensure they reach their destinations safely and can celebrate Songkran with their families.
