The Social Security Office has expedited payments of unemployment benefits to 208,404 individuals, totaling 618,153,336.75 baht, confirming that all insured persons have received their full payments to ease the hardships faced by those affected.
On 11 April 2026, it was reported that Ms. Kanjana Phunkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, stated that the office is continuously disbursing unemployment benefits to affected insured persons to alleviate their difficulties and build confidence in the social security system. Previous delays in benefit payments were caused by the transition and development of a new processing system.
Therefore, to urgently resolve the situation, the Social Security Office has implemented measures for provincial offices to deploy staff to expedite the review and approval of pending unemployment cases, extending working hours from 06:00 to 20:30. This has enabled approval of over 35,000 payments per day, meeting the set targets.
Between 8-31 January 2026, unemployment payments were transferred to 75,387 insured persons, totaling 190,071,088.15 baht. On 2-3 February 2026, another 133,017 insured persons will receive their unemployment payments via banks, totaling 428,082,248.60 baht. The office will continue to expedite benefit payments.
Ms. Kanjana emphasized, “The Social Security Office is fully committed to protecting the rights of insured persons, ensuring that payments are made accurately, transparently, completely, and fairly.”
