On the Asia Highway passing through Ayutthaya, traffic on the first holiday night remains heavy with vehicles filling every lane but still moving smoothly. It is expected that travelers returning home for Songkran will continue throughout the night.
At 9:00 PM on 11 Apr 2026 GMT+7, traffic on the Asia Highway passing through Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province—from Bang Pa-in District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Nakhon Luang District, Bang Pa Han District, to Maharaj District heading north—remains heavy with vehicles filling every lane, moving at speeds of 80-100 kilometers per hour, and flowing well.
Around kilometer marker 16 in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, just before the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Government Center (Provincial Hall), traffic is still heavy with vehicles occupying all lanes but moving smoothly. However, caution and adherence to speed limits are advised, as both small and large vehicles share the road in significant numbers.
On Phahonyothin Road outbound, passing through Wang Noi District toward Saraburi province, traffic is also heavy but moving well, with speeds between 80 and 100 kilometers per hour.
It is expected that throughout the night, many people will continue traveling back to their hometowns to make the most of the long Songkran holiday with their families, despite the current high fuel prices.
Authorities remind travelers returning home to check their vehicle condition and physical health before departure. If feeling unwell or if the vehicle has issues, travelers should check their route in advance. There are 24-hour service points available to assist and support travelers so they can enjoy a safe and happy Songkran holiday with their families during this Thai New Year.
