2nd Army Region Explains Incident of Soldier Injured by Bamboo Stake in Left Leg Now Out of Danger

The 2nd Army Region reported that a soldier stumbled and was impaled in the front of his left leg by a bamboo stake, resulting in heavy bleeding, while on a security patrol. He is now out of danger.

Most recently, today (13 Apr 2026), the Facebook pageof the 2nd Army Regionreported that a soldier was injured while on duty in the Khao Sattasom area, Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province. On 12 Apr 2026 at 17:30, a soldier from the 12th Infantry Battalion (3rd Regiment, 2nd Division), Sergeant Peeraphat Mathurot, serving as the squad leader of the 1st Anti-tank Squad, 123rd Infantry Company,

was injured during a security patrol around the operational base in Khao Sattasom. He stumbled and was impaled by a bamboo stake used as a defensive barrier in front of his left leg, causing a deep wound and significant blood loss.

After the incident, the unit provided first aid and transferred him to Kantharalak Hospital, where doctors performed surgery to repair the blood vessels. His condition has stabilized; he was moved out of the ICU to a general ward and is currently under close medical supervision.
