Patong Police Arrest Foreign Tourists Using High-Pressure Water Guns Against Officers on Duty

Phuket – Patong Police chased a group of foreign tourists who used high-pressure water guns to spray officers while on duty, exceeding the fun of the Songkran festival and potentially causing injury to the police officers.

On 14 April 2026, social media posted clips showing Patong Police officers arresting a group of foreign tourists who sprayed police with high-pressure water guns while the officers were on duty at the command tent within Patong Municipality. This occurred on 13 April 2026 and may have gone beyond acceptable behavior or the spirit of Songkran festivities, with the intent to deliberately spray the police officers, potentially causing them harm.

The first three clips show about a dozen foreign tourists spraying Patong Police officers with high-pressure water guns while the officers were on duty at the Songkran command tent at Patong Beach 2026, within Patong Municipality. The officers had to run to avoid possible injury.

The second clip, filmed from inside a vehicle, shows another perspective of the group of foreign tourists collectively spraying water at the police officers.

The third clip shows police officers chasing and arresting the group of foreign tourists involved in the incident, who were then taken to Patong Police Station for legal action.
