The Meteorological Department Issues third announcement warning multiple provinces to prepare from 16-20 April Seasonal storms There may be thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, and hail in some areas

15 April 2026 GMT+7Meteorological Department websiteAnnouncement regarding "Seasonal storms over upper Thailand expected from 16-20 April 2026, Announcement No. 3" It states that from 16–20 April 2026, upper Thailand will experience seasonal storms characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, and hail in some places, with possible lightning in certain areas.

The storms will start in the Northeast and Eastern regions, then affect the Central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, and later the Northern region. This is due to a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China extending over the South China Sea, strengthening the southern and southeastern winds over the lower Northeast and Eastern regions, while upper Thailand experiences hot to very hot weather.

The public in these areas is advised to be cautious of seasonal storm hazards by avoiding open spaces, staying away from large trees, unstable structures, and billboards. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to protect crops and livestock from possible damage. People should also take care of their health during this weather change.

The public is urged to follow announcements from the Meteorological Department and can obtain information at the department’s website http://www.tmd.go.th or by calling 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, available 24 hours.
