Asia Road Traffic Begins to Build Up as People Return to Bangkok for Work After Long Songkran Holiday

"Asia Road" Traffic is starting to become congested as people gradually return to Bangkok to resume work after the extended Songkran holiday in 2026.

At 12:00 GMT+7 on 15 April 2026, reporters noted that people have begun returning from their hometowns following the long Songkran holiday. On Highway 32, Asia Road, passing through Chainat Province heading south towards Bangkok, traffic volume started to increase but remains smooth, allowing vehicles to travel at legal speeds. Slowdowns only occur near traffic lights and construction zones.

Meanwhile, on Highway 340 between Suphanburi and Chainat, an alternative route during the festival period, traffic was still flowing smoothly near the traffic light intersection at the Chainat Highway District as people returned to Bangkok.

However, the Chainat Provincial Command Center for Preventing and Reducing Road Accidents during the 2026 Songkran Festival expects traffic volume to rise tonight. Officials have requested that all road users strictly observe traffic laws to prevent potential accidents.
