Fourth Warning Issued for Summer Storms from 16-20 April: Check Which Provinces Will Be Affected

The Meteorological Department issued its fourth warning of summer storms from 16 to 20 April 2026, advising which provinces will be affected and to prepare accordingly heavy rainfall


16 April 2026Meteorological Department websiteannouncement regarding "Summer storms in upper Thailand (effective from 16-20 April 2026), warning number 4" It states that from 16 to 20 April 2026, upper Thailand will experience summer storms characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, and hail in some locations, along with the possibility of lightning in certain areas, beginning with the Northeastern and Eastern regions.

Subsequently, the Central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the Northern region will be affected. This is due to a high-pressure system or cold air mass from China extending over the South China Sea, strengthening the south and southeast winds over the lower Northeastern and Eastern regions, while upper Thailand remains hot to very hot.

Residents in these areas are advised to beware of dangers from summer storms by avoiding open spaces, large trees, unstable structures, and billboards. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to protect crops and livestock from potential damage, as well as take care of their health during this changing weather period.
