Check Risk Provinces Affected by Summer Storm with Thunderstorms, Strong Winds, and Some Hail

The Meteorological Department warns"Summer storm"over upper Thailand, bulletin no. 7, with impacts until 20 April. Check the list of risk provinces experiencing thunderstorms, gusty winds, and some hail.

On 17 April 2026, the websiteof the Meteorological Departmentissued a notice regarding the summer storm over upper Thailand (effective until 20 April 2026), bulletin no. 7, stating that upper Thailand will experience a summer storm characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, and some hail, with occasional lightning in some areas.

The storm will begin in the northeastern and eastern regions first, followed by the central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, and then the northern region. This is due to a high-pressure area or cold air mass from China extending over the South China Sea, causing stronger south and southeast winds over lower northeastern Thailand, the eastern region, and the upper Gulf of Thailand, while upper Thailand experiences hot to very hot weather.

Residents in these areas are advised to beware of dangers from the summer storm by avoiding open spaces, staying away from large trees, unstable structures, and billboards. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to protect agricultural produce and livestock from potential damage, as well as take care of their health during this weather change.
