Summer Storm Hits Prachinburi, Heavy Rain Causes 8 High-Voltage Power Poles to Break and Fall Across Road

"Summer storm" Hits Prachinburi; thunderstorms caused 8 high-voltage power poles to break and fall blocking the road in Kabin Buri, closing one left traffic lane. Highway police are investigating and coordinating with the electric authority for repairs.

According to the Meteorological Department's warning of a "summer storm" over upper Thailand, the impact is expected until 20 Apr.This will cause many areasto possibly experience thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, localized hail, and lightning, initially affecting the Northeast and East regionsbeforemoving on to affect the Central region, Bangkok and its vicinity, and the North.

Subsequently, on 17 Apr 2026, heavy rain images caused by the summer storm were reported around18:00in Ban Khok Hom, Kabin Buri District, Prachinburi Province, resulting inseveral high-voltage power polesfalling.

Most recently, at 18:41the Facebook page"Highway Police" reported that eight high-voltage power poles broke along Highway 33 between km 197-198 in Muang Kao Subdistrict, Kabin Buri District, Prachinburi Province, blocking one left traffic lane.

Highway police inspected the scene and coordinated with Kabin Buri Electric Authority to carry out repairs, aiming to quickly clear the area and reopen normal traffic flow. However, caution is still advised when passing the site.
