Regarding the tragic accident in Nan Province where a pickup truck skidded off a curve and veered off the road on the Pua–Doi Phu Kha highway in Pua District, there were 8 deaths and 11 injuries. Latest, on 19 April 2026, additional reports state that there were 5 deaths at the scene of the pickup truck accident on the Pua–Doi Phu Kha highway in Pua District, 3 died while being transported to the hospital, and 1 died during treatment, totaling 9 fatalities.

The vehicle was driven by Mr. Ichales Yodon, 47 years old. He had 22 passengers aboard, all villagers from Choon Village, Moo 4, Pa Klang Subdistrict, Pua District, Nan Province. They were relatives who had gone fishing in Bo Kluea District and were returning home in the evening.
At the accident site, a steep downhill curve, the vehicle's brakes failed, causing it to crash into the road safety guardrail. This resulted in 5 injuries and 9 deaths. The preliminary cause remains under further investigation.
