Tad Ton Waterfall Bustling with Tourists Cooling Off, Tops Songkran Visitors for 5 Consecutive Years

"Tad Ton Waterfall" in Chaiyaphum Province is bustling with tourists flocking to cool off in the water, holding the top spot among national parks with the highest number of visitors during Songkran for five consecutive years.

On 19 April 2026, reporters described the atmosphere at Tad Ton National Park in Na Phai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chaiyaphum Province, a well-known natural tourist site. Visitors from many areas came in large numbers to cool off by the water. Over 5,000 people gathered near the Tad Ton Waterfall cliff, both above and below, as it is the hot season and school holidays. The dam releases a moderate amount of water, making it suitable for relaxation and water play for all ages, from children to the elderly, making it afavoritespot for those seeking to cool off.

Mr. Tin Wongrinyong, head of Tad Ton National Park, revealed that the highlightof "Tad Ton Waterfall"is its dam at the top, which retains water year-round, allowing tourists to enjoy cooling off at the waterfall anytime. During theSongkran festival,from 11 to 15 April 2026,more than 20,000 visitors per daycame to swim in Tad Ton Waterfall, totaling over 43,000 people, ranking first nationwide for five consecutive years.

Meanwhile, the Departmentof National Parksreleased a summary of tourism during"Songkran"from 11 to 14 April 2026. The total accumulated visitors across all 156 national parks amounted to 480,558 people.

Notably, on 14 April, or"Family Day",alone, 180,792 visitors flooded the parks, pushing total revenue collection to 25,590,635 baht, despite the fee waiver for Thai nationals on that day.

The top five national parks with the highest visitor numbers during this Songkran festival are:

1. Tad Ton National Park (Chaiyaphum Province): Holding the number one spot with crowds flocking to cool off at the waterfall.

2. Khao Yai National Park (Nakhon Ratchasima and nearby provinces): A popular destination near Bangkok, continuously attracting families.

3. Noppharat Thara Beach-Phi Phi Islands National Park (Krabi Province): A world-class marine tourist destination favored by both Thai and international visitors.

4. Phlio Waterfall National Park (Chanthaburi Province): Another popular waterfall chosen by Eastern region residents for family celebrations.

5. Erawan National Park (Kanchanaburi Province): A beautiful waterfall landmark accommodating many tourists during the long holiday.
