Warning for 44 Provinces to Prepare for Summer Storms with Heavy Rain and Strong Winds

The Meteorological Department issues bulletin No. 11 warning of "summer storms" in upper Thailand affecting areas until 20 Apr. Check the list of 44 provinces preparingto cope with "heavy rain" strong gusts, hail, and occasional lightning in some areas

On 19 April 2026, the websiteof the Meteorological Departmentannounced bulletin No. 11 regarding summer storms in upper Thailand (impact until 20 April 2026), stating that upper Thailand will continue to experience summer storms in many areas, especially in the North, Northeast, and East. These storms include thunderstorms, strong gusts, hail, and heavy rain, with possible lightning in some areas due to south and southeast winds bringing moisture from the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea covering the Northeast, East, and upper Gulf of Thailand. Meanwhile, the weather remains hot to very hot across Thailand.

The public in upper Thailand is advised to be cautious of dangers from summer storms by avoiding open areas, large trees, weak structures, and billboards. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to protect agricultural products and livestock from possible damage. People are also advised to take care of their health during weather changes.   • North: Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun provinces
  • Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Buriram provinces
  • Central: Lopburi, Saraburi, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya provinces, including Bangkok and its metropolitan area
  • East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, and Sa Kaeo provinces

Moderate risk

  • North: Phichit province
  • Northeast: Kalasin, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Surin, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani provinces
  • Central: Nakhon Sawan, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Nakhon Pathom, and Samut Sakhon provinces
  • East: Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat provinces
