
The Royal Gazette announces a royal command to confer ecclesiastical titles on three monks. "Phra Phrom Muni" has been promoted to "Somdet Phra Ratchakhana"
20 April 2026 GMT+7The Royal Gazette websitehas announced the conferment of ecclesiastical titles, stating that His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun has issued a royal command to confer ecclesiastical titles on the occasion of the grand royal ceremony celebrating the 4th cycle birthday anniversary of Her Majesty the Queen on 3 June 2026, on three monks as follows.
1. Phra Phrom Muni has been promoted to Somdet Phra Ratchakhana with the ceremonial title inscribed in the royal patent as Somdet Phra Maha Vajiramunivong Mahachetthayapongkhunthada Dhammatoot Phatthanakanlalang Karn Paisan Sasanakitkari Sri Thammatharavarangkun Wibunseelachansunthorn Dhammayuttikakhanissara Bowornsangharam Khamavasi Aranyavasi, residing at Wat Phra Sri Mahathat Woramahawihan, a royal temple in Bangkok. He holds a seniority rank with a class of 10 monks.
2. Phra Dhamma Vajira Methachan has been promoted to deputy ecclesiastical rank with the ceremonial title inscribed in the royal patent as Phra Phrom Watcharayanakawi Srisasanakit Borihan Patipan Worathamapreecha Wimonseelachanadilok Tripitaka Khunalongkorn Dhammayuttikakhanissara Bowornsangharam Khamavasi, residing at Wat Sommanat Ratchaworawihan, a royal temple in Bangkok. He holds a seniority rank with a class of 8 monks.
3. Phra Dhamma Vajira Jindaphon has been promoted to deputy ecclesiastical rank with the ceremonial title inscribed in the royal patent as Phra Phrom Vajira Methaporn Chinwarapapjananusit Vichitsangkhakhanathipat Udompariyatayathikanbodi Angkeerosatham Jintawisut Dhammayuttikakhanissara Bowornsangharam Khamavasi, residing at Wat Ratchabophit Sathit Mahasimaram Ratchaworawihan, a royal temple in Bangkok. He holds a seniority rank with a class of 8 monks.
