First Announcement Warning of Summer Storms: Check Which Provinces to Prepare for Heavy Rain

The Meteorological Department issues the first announcement warning of "summer storms" expected from 23–25 April; check which provinces and prepare for "heavy rain, strong winds, and hail"


21 April 2026 GMT+7The Meteorological Department websiteannounces"Summer Storms in Upper Thailand (effective 23–25 April 2026), Announcement No. 1 (33/2569)"It states that from 23 to 25 April 2026, upper Thailand will experience summer storms characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, lightning, and hail in some areas, starting in the North, Northeast, and East regions.

The Central region, including Bangkok and its metropolitan area, will be affected later due to high pressure or cold air masses moving down from China covering the Northeast and South China Sea, while upper Thailand generally remains hot to very hot.

Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious of dangers from summer storms by avoiding open spaces, large trees, unstable structures, and billboards. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to protect crops, agricultural products, and livestock. People should also take care of their health during these weather changes.
