Life Mission: Medical and Rescue Teams Unite to Transport 200-Kilogram Patient via Slide Vehicle

A life mission to transport a patient weighing 200 kilograms onto a slide vehicle saw medical and rescue teams join forces to ensure a safe transfer amid the goodwill of road users who helped clear the way.

At 14:00 on 22 Apr 2026 GMT+7, the Putthaisawan Foundation was contacted by Bang Pahan Hospital to support the deployment of a large slide vehicle and personnel to assist in moving a patient weighing over 200 kilograms. The patient was to be transferred to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital, the provincial hospital, due to the patient’s severe condition requiring close monitoring.

After receiving the call, several Putthaisawan Foundation staff and a large slide vehicle rushed to assist 41-year-old Kiatsuwat, a critical patient with chronic illness. Along with doctors and nurses from Bang Pahan Hospital, they carefully planned and prepared all necessary equipment, including oxygen tanks and essential medical devices, to ensure the safest possible transfer.

The transfer began inside the patient ward, where staff helped move the patient onto a wheelchair before loading him onto the slide vehicle, as a regular ambulance could not be used. Nurses and medical staff remained on the slide vehicle throughout the journey. Once onboard, oxygen tubing was connected and a heart pump prepared for emergencies, as the unconscious patient was on life support. Despite the hot weather, the team remained committed and performed their duties with full effort to safely assist the patient through this critical state.

Once preparations were complete, a convoy including police from Bang Pahan Police Station, the Bang Pahan Hospital ambulance, and a Putthaisawan Foundation vehicle proceeded toward Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital, covering over 15 kilometers. Police and foundation staff managed traffic along the route, stopping vehicles at intersections to clear the way for the convoy's swift passage.

Upon entering Ayutthaya city island, the patient showed signs of distress, prompting nurses to stop the vehicle mid-route to provide urgent oxygen and first aid before continuing. Upon arrival at Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital, an emergency medical team awaited the case. Staff then carefully transferred the patient from the vehicle to the emergency room amid supportive onlookers and patients at the hospital who cheered the team's efforts.

Rathapon Kianruprut, a Putthaisawan Foundation official, said the foundation received a request to provide a slide vehicle and several staff to help transfer the patient, who weighed as much as 200 kilograms, to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital. The team quickly assembled personnel and equipment, handling the operation with special caution.

The transfer convoy used the Asia Highway route, accompanied by police, ambulance, and foundation vehicles to facilitate smooth and safe passage. Throughout the journey, other road users cooperated by yielding to the emergency vehicles from Bang Pahan Hospital and the Putthaisawan Foundation, enabling the patient to reach the hospital safely.

This event represents another vital mission reflecting the dedication, sacrifice, and effective collaboration of doctors, nurses, and rescue personnel working together to save a life commendably amid the enduring kindness of the community.
