From the program "Khon La Khrueng Plus" to "Thai Chuay Thai Plus" Flea markets are bustling, and vendors are happy to be able to use it again, saying they have been waiting for this program for a long time.
On 25 April 2026, reporters reported that the atmosphere at flea markets in Chiang Mai province became lively immediately after hearing news that the government plans to implement the Khon La Khrueng Plus program in June. Vendors were delighted because they believe this measure will help ease living cost issues and stimulate more active spending after the economic crisis caused sales to stagnate for a long time.
A vendor at a flea market near Business Park in Nong Pa Khrang Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai District, said she has been waiting for this program for a long time and is happy it will return. She noted that in the recent economic situation, customers have been buying less to save money, and she believes this program will encourage people to spend more, benefiting vendors with increased sales.
Regarding the revised condition of monthly payments of 1,000 baht over 4 months, she viewed it as appropriate given the current economic situation, understanding that the government is also facing difficulties. She added that it is still better than receiving no assistance or relief at all.
However, some vendors feel that the monthly payment of 1,000 baht is too low and unlikely to cover expenses, as prices have risen, requiring more spending. They would prefer a one-time payment of 4,000 baht or payments split into two months of 2,000 baht each.
