On 27 April 2026, a special reporter in Kalasin Province contacted Major General Atthachai Raksasin, Deputy Commander of the 2nd Army Region, who said that General Kung had long expressed his wish to ordain with Luang Pu Sila. Today, he came to pay respects again and receive the monastic items because Luang Pu Sila will join in the merit-making. General Kung had said for a long time that he wanted to ordain to dedicate merit to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect Thailand’s sovereignty, enabling Thai people to live peacefully until today.
The military will announce the date and place of the ordination later. It is expected that many patriotic Thais will join General Kung in ordaining.
