Rangers Bust Cross-Border Motorcycle Trafficking Gang Loading Bikes on Longtail Boat for Myanmar Sale

Tak — Rangers dismantled a cross-border motorcycle trafficking gang loading bikes onto a longtail boat, preparing to send them for sale in Myanmar. Two motorcycles were seized as evidence. Suspicious suspects escaped under cover of darkness.

At 11:30 a.m. on 28 Apr 2026 GMT+7, reporters received a report from Colonel Supakorn Poochan, commander of the 35th Ranger Task Force, that personnel from Ranger Company 3506 deployed Operational Team 1 to patrol and monitor natural routes near the natural crossing at Ban Towa (White Bridge), Ban Mae Salid Luang, Village No. 2, Mae Song Subdistrict, Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province. The operation aimed to deter all forms of illegal activity and prevent violations of laws including the Narcotics Act, Foreign Labor Act, War Weapons Act, Customs Act, and other laws.

While performing duties along the Moei River, authorities noticed two suspicious individuals and moved to inspect them. The suspects fled into the darkness. Upon inspection, officials found two Honda motorcycles—a Wave 110i with license plate 1 กธ 5291 from Samut Sakhon and a Wave 125i with license plate 2 กผ 9816 from Rayong—along with a longtail motorboat abandoned at the scene on the Thai-Myanmar border along the Moei River.

Authorities used an excavator to tow and confiscate the two motorcycles and the longtail motorboat with its engine. These were handed over to Police Lieutenant Songpon Hemputra, the investigating officer at Tha Song Yang Police Station, to identify the perpetrators and proceed with legal action.
