
The National Water Resources Office has issued a watch. Heavy rain. From 29 April to 1 May, 33 provinces are warned to monitor potential impacts on agricultural crops and short-term flooding that may disrupt urban travel.
On 28 April 2026, the National Water Resources Office announced a watch for areas at risk of heavy rain from 29 April to 1 May 2026. This is due to high pressure or cold air masses from China spreading over the Northeast region and the South China Sea, combined with hot to very hot weather over upper Thailand. These conditions will cause thunderstorms and localized heavy rain in upper Thailand.
They urge vigilance regarding possible impacts on agricultural crops and livestock, and short-term flooding that could obstruct travel in urban communities from 29 April to 1 May 2026. The affected provinces include Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Tak, Phetchabun, Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Chaiyaphum, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Sisaket, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Ubon Ratchathani, Nakhon Sawan, Lopburi, Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, and Chonburi.
