Nakhon Ratchasima – The mayor of Pho Klang Subdistrict inspected the site of a fake birth registration scheme and found the so-called Gray Chinese Children's House empty, having been dismantled since 2023. Meanwhile, the actual homeowner insists they had no knowledge of the matter. Authorities are accelerating the investigation to expand the case.
On 28 April 2026, Dr. Kitipong Pongsurawet, mayor of Pho Klang Subdistrict, visited Ban Lung Pradu, Village No. 7, Lung Pradu Subdistrict, Huai Thalaeng District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, to verify facts regarding municipal registration officials who committed offenses by issuing false birth registrations to a group of foreigners, mainly Chinese, totaling 27 individuals. Among them, three individuals with false birth records reportedly moved into House No. 68, Village No. 7, Ban Lung Pradu, Lung Pradu Subdistrict, Huai Thalaeng District, Nakhon Ratchasima. However, upon inspection, House No. 68 had already been demolished and removed from the site. Currently, House No. 68 is vacant land owned by the Agricultural Land Reform Office (ALRO), covering 1 rai 3 ngan, with approximately 50 square wah where the house once stood. Additionally, concrete pillars left abandoned and overgrown with grass were found on the premises.
Ms. Saifon Asa, a former village assistant residing in the area, said, “House No. 68 was demolished and vacated in 2023. The house was inhabited by about four people — a father, mother, and two daughters. Over time, I never saw outsiders living in that house.”
Subsequently, contact was made with Mrs. Saengchan Khimsoong, 55, the owner of House No. 68. Mrs. Saengchan explained, “I demolished and moved the house in July 2023 and reported this to the Lung Pradu Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO). The SAO issued official documentation confirming the demolition. Initially, I was unaware that anyone had moved into my old house. I only found out during the SAO elections earlier in 2026 when the voter registration list showed several other names, including three children with names matching foreigners, residing at my former address. After the election, the Huai Thalaeng District officials inspected the area and invited me to give a statement to confirm my innocence and that I was not involved in the foreigners’ move-in.”
Dr. Kitipong Pongsurawet, mayor of Pho Klang Subdistrict, stated, “Today, I visited the site to verify facts and collect evidence to forward to the provincial authorities, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), and the Office of the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) for investigation and to determine whether there is an organized network behind this case. I am confident that this corruption involves a network because I believe one person alone could not have done this; others must be involved.”
