Warning Issued for Fourth Summer Storm Alert: Check Which Provinces to Prepare for Heavy Rain

The Meteorological Department issues its fourth alert for summer storms from 29 April to 1 May, several provinces should prepare for heavy rain, strong winds, and hail

29 April 2026 GMT+7The Meteorological Department's websiteannounced "Summer storms in upper Thailand (effective until 1 May 2026)" In the fourth bulletin, it states that from 29 April to 1 May 2026, upper Thailand will experience summer storms characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusty winds, hail, heavy rain in some areas, and possible lightning in certain locations.

The storms will begin in the North, Northeast, and East regions. The Central region including Bangkok and its vicinity will be affected later. This is due to a high-pressure system or cold air mass from China extending over the Northeast and the South China Sea, while upper Thailand remains hot to very hot.

Residents in these areas are advised to beware of dangers from the summer storms by avoiding open spaces, standing under large trees, weak structures, or billboards. Farmers should reinforce fruit trees and prepare to protect crops and livestock from damage, as well as take care of their health during this changing weather.

The public is urged to follow announcements from the Meteorological Department and can access information at http://www.tmd.go.th or by calling 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, available 24 hours.
